Helping the young performers of today become the superstars of tomorrow

Triple Threat Academy NZ workshops have been developed for budding young performers to explore the world of being a 'triple threat' artist, an ever-increasing requirement in the world of performing arts.

Our kaupapa - ‘Helping the young performers of today become the superstars of tomorrow'

Since our inception in 2016 TTANZ has delivered intensive three-day workshops across the country to over 250 young performers working closely with performing arts communities in Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Invercargill.

Past students of TTANZ have continued on to study performance and musical theatre at various tertiary institutes around NZ and overseas and a large number have also found success in professional and large-scale productions around New Zealand.

We want to provide the rangatahi of today the opportunity to interact with high quality arts through our intensive workshops, inspiring them to pursue their passion of performance.

With help from a number of New Zealand's key leading musical theatre practitioners our young performers talents and skills will be challenged, nurtured and built upon whilst helping fuel their love of the arts.

They are encouraged to unlock and discover further passion along the way and set themselves goals to create individual focusses on their own journey beyond the workshops.

Our ethos concentrates on students leaving the intensive feeling more confident in themselves, their abilities, and their understanding of the art form.

Young performers are separated by age group to enable them to learn and grow in a safe, professional environment where all skill levels are welcomed.

The age groups are:

Junior: 7 – 9 Years Old

Youth: 10-12 Years Old

Senior: 13-18+ Years Old

*younger student will be considered based on abilities and skillset.

Each age group has a specific programme designed to help with the their development, incorporating skills in Dance, Singing (Solo and Ensemble), Acting and Chorus Staging.

As part of our goal to enable future passion for the arts, each student will leave the 3 day intensive workshop with a set of professional headshots.

We focus on the development and empowerment of our students moving forward, showing off their talent in a “work in progress” performance, giving parents a clear example of their trajectory beyond the workshops.

"Our ethos concentrates on students leaving the intensive feeling more confident in themselves, their abilities, and their understanding of the art form"
